WEEK EIGHT - Visual Media Tools

This is my FLICKER gallery:

Personally I like using Mailchimp's e-zine templates. I feel they communicate very well visually

Other Visual Media Tools:
  • Facebook -1.23bn monthly active users, 200 million photos uploaded per day
  • Instagram - was bought by Facebook in 2010 (as well as WhatsApp)
  • Pinterest - equal gender usage in UK, more women use it in the USA. Image ownership issues.
  • YouTube- first major video hosting and sharing site, Hocus Pocus tutorial.
  • Twitter - 400 million tweets a day. Can use storify.com, but be careful about bias.
  • Flickr - photography with metatags
  • VideoJug - how to videos, started in 2006, usually only 10 mins and are printable.

My Twitter Experience
I am not an active Twitter user, but I re-activated my 2011 account in February 2015 and I synchronised it a little bit whit my e-mail contact list, something which I hadn't done before. These are the notifications I received to my e-mail account. I do not receive Twitter to my mobile phone.
  • The first set is a mix of random people whom I do not know which was extracted from the info@twitter.com account. (below) They are of no relevance to me and a lot of these random people seem to be of Asian/Oriental origin.

  • The second set is specific people I do know which was extracted from the notify@twitter.com account. (below). These contacts seem to be more Irish based, less like spam, and I personally know some of them.
